The Future of Education
The purposeful model of education is changing. It was once a punitive one where the student prepared (studied) and then performed (took a test). Out of 100 students in a class, x amount could both prepare and perform, y could prepare but not perform, z could not prepare but could perform. And the F student could do neither. It is not like now; where it is like that is residual. Now, it is about effort. Redo homework. Retake tests. Online: Retake the quiz until you get 100%. That means, getting an A is a matter of pushing through the obstacle of the refining quizes that filter your ignorance until it arrives pure. Is that more democratic?: yes. Is that inherently more just?: yes. Is there a cost?: maybe, it depends upon how you view equality between human beings. That is a different essay. It is enough to say here that we are now in the business of producing a different human being.
